My Journey to Higher Education
My journey to higher education began with my bachelor's degree in English literature. I have always had a passion for literature and writing, and pursuing a degree in this field seemed like a natural choice. During my undergraduate years, I was exposed to a wide range of literary works, from classic novels to contemporary poetry. The rigorous coursework challenged me to think critically, analyze texts, and develop my own unique writing style.
Pursuing a Master's Degree in Creative Writing
After completing my bachelor's degree, I decided to pursue a master's degree in creative writing. This program allowed me to delve deeper into the craft of storytelling and explore different genres. It honed my writing abilities and provided me with valuable feedback and guidance from experienced professors and fellow writers.
Specializing in Education with a Second Master's Degree
Realizing the need to further specialize, I pursued a second master's degree, this time in education. I wanted to understand teaching and learning, and how to effectively engage students in the classroom. This program provided me with the opportunity to observe and participate in various teaching environments, ranging from elementary schools to high schools. I learned about different teaching methodologies, classroom management techniques, and the importance of creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Contributing to Education with a Doctorate Degree
After completing my second master's degree, I decided to pursue a doctorate in educational leadership, with a focus on curriculum development and instructional design. This program allowed me to explore the latest research and best practices in education, and provided me with the skills and knowledge to lead educational institutions and make a positive impact on students' lives.
Challenges and Growth
Throughout my journey to higher education, I faced numerous challenges and obstacles. However, my determination and passion for learning always pushed me forward. I learned the importance of perseverance, resilience, and continuous self-improvement.

Pursuing a doctorate degree provided me with interdisciplinary collaborations and expanded my knowledge beyond my specific field of study. It required self-motivation, discipline, and opened doors to various career opportunities in academia, research, and other industries.
The Value of Higher Education
Higher education provides the acquisition of knowledge and expertise in a chosen field. It shapes character, fosters independence and critical thinking, and exposes individuals to diverse perspectives and ideas. Higher education equips individuals with skills necessary to navigate the complexities of the modern world and opens doors to a multitude of opportunities.
After UCLA College of Letters where I obtained PhD is Philosophy, Psychology and Religion I got a teaching job at the University. I felt uneasy teaching. I applied for a job in the mental health field; I got many offers and within two years was running the mental health center where I worked, supervising psychologists and psychiatrists who have been in that field for many decades.
Eventually, I felt bored by the job (of been executive director...I was barely thirty two years old when I was the executive director of the largest mental health agency in the city where I lived) and quit and tried doing other things.
Nothing I tried worked out for me. So, I did other executive director jobs but eventually wound up quitting and returning to college teaching until I felt that teaching is too easy for me; I felt unchallenged being a college professor (I filled my time writing on assorted subjects that interested me).
Eventually, I realized that I have a destiny and fate. My normal routine is to read until I go to sleep (although there is a huge TV in the house, I seldom watch it) and get up around 5 AM, think for a while, and then go to my computer and type the thoughts that I just had in my sleep.
